“Smashed avo?
Let’s give it a go!”,
Said mummy,
When she heard a growl
In Artie’s tummy.
A slice and a smash
Then quick as a flash
It was on his plate,
He wouldn’t wait.
Now it’s in his hands
In his hair
There’s avocado everywhere!
Up his nose
On his clothes
Between his toes!
“Goodness me!” Daddy said
When he got home from work
And you were in bed
But the kitchen was green
And took him an hour to clean
“…Avocado is nice
But can we stick to baby rice?”
I love this! It sounds like everyday at my house. I wake up with the best of intentions to introduce an ever growing range of foods and textures. Then by the end of the day I think she can eat baby rice until she’s old enough to clean the mess herself. Your poems are fantastic!
Ha ha yes same here but my youngest (8 months) is currently staging a protest and refusing to be spoon-fed. The mess! Thanks so much, I’m very much a newbie and finding my way around but it’s nice to have a creative outlet. Something to distract from the mayhem!
Haha this sounds like our house. Thanks for linking up to #justanotherlinky xx
