The Post Christmas Fog

The post Christmas fog.
It passes in a haze.
Suddenly you realise,
You’ve not left the house in days.

All those plans you made.
Things you needed to buy.
And instead you’ve been sedated,
By a truck load of mince pies.

I’ll tackle that pile of admin!
Go for a mighty jog!
But all you’ve polished off
Is a triple chocolate log.

I’d better wash those sheets.
Call Great-Aunty Suze.
But gosh I feel so sleepy,
First I’ll have a snooze.

Oh well, the year’s almost out
Let’s keep the party merry.
Forget the resolutions,
Someone pass the sherry…!
